Digging into children's media projects for the German state of Thüringia.

This Monday, my office table hosted a mystical water beast, some hidden spaces soaked in history, a trio of Berlin super heros, a socially dysfunctional art student and a bunch of young apprentices. All in the name of developing fiction and documentary formats for children and young adults for the German market.

Mapping works, even through a web camera. It becomes a shared model for discussion, enabling writers, producers and script consultants to build common understanding and dig into the underlying forces, motives, drives that steer the choices of the various characters whose interrelation triggers stories to emerge.

Formate aus Thüringen. Serien für junges Publikum is an initiative that supports the development of innovative, serial formats for children and adolescents that can be distributed through television and / or on other platforms. It also serves to strengthen the production industry in the German state of Thüringia. Grants of up to € 145,000 are awarded for the development of materials and projects. The tender is aimed at small and medium-sized companies from the media sector (film, TV and / or online; up to a maximum of 250 employees and € 50 million annual sales or € 43 million total assets). Experience in the field of media production for children and / or young people is desirable, but not a requirement.
