Køge, Denmark: Generating Ideas for Multimedia Design Students. Nov '14.

How do we generate ideas? How can we apply design thinking to create concepts that will be relevant and desired by a particular target group? How can we prevent ourselves from not falling into the trap of simply making stuff that makes us happy? These were some of the questions I attempted to address in a four hour session with the multimedia design students from Zealand's Institute of Business and Technology (Erhvers Akademi Sjælland). Part theory, part practical the students discovered the value of user insight and how mapping out the system around a subject area provides the most valuable thing when designing: CONTEXT.
